106.9 The Light Radiothon a success for area Rescue Missions

The Cleveland County Rescue Mission received an early Christmas gift this morning when 106.9 The Light General Manager, John Owens and Ministry Associate, Jeff Taylor stopped by with some great news.
Earlier this month, 106.9 The Light (part of the Billy Graham Evangelical Association) hosted a radiothon to bring "Hope to the Hungry" in our area. The partnership involved seven area Rescue Missions and feeding programs to provide meals during this season of giving. Today, just in time for Christmas, some of the proceeds of that radiothon were delivered.
"We anticipate serving 40,000 meals this year at CCRM," said Director of Development, Jocelyn Hill, "and The Light was able to help us accomplish providing nearly 6,000 of those meals!"
The partnership opens a new opportunity for CCRM and allows both ministries to help one another in their missions to spread the Good News of Jesus to the world.
John and Jeff were able to see, first-hand the life changes that occur at CCRM and Heart2Heart Place, much of which is initiated in the meals program; many residents' first interaction with the Mission. They were thrilled that The Light could be a part of those changes by hosting the radiothon.
The award-winning, listener supported 106.9 The Light was founded by Billy and Ruth Graham in 1962 and has been operated by Blue Ridge Broadcasting ever since. You can learn more by visiting them at 1069thelight.org.
