This was the first year KSB used social media to promote and handle the voting for the annual tree contest. The public was invited to vote for their favorite contest entry on the City of Shelby’s Facebook page over a 2 week period. Over 250 votes were cast.
Keep Shelby Beautiful (KSB) holds the annual tree contest as a way to promote trees as a resource for beautification and to celebrate the City’s tree heritage. KSB recognizes that trees contribute to the attractiveness and livability of the City. Trees enhance the community’s appearance that contributes to a positive economic development atmosphere.
