4th Annual Elliott Family Farms Heritage Days
Enjoying a fun ride around the Elliott Farms during the Heritage Days (l to r): Loretta Newton, Brad Saunders, Emma and Dennis Greene, Mary McNeilly, Zachary Saunders, Lala, Lisa and Anna Donaldson, Jacob Saunders and Lawson and Lee Rudisill.
Hundreds of folks came out to one of the best old timey, fun filled, farm festivals at Elliott Farms on October 1st and 2nd.  Homemade goods, including apple butter and molasses were for sale. For acres and acres, you could see blacksmithing, an antique tractor and engine show, go to the general store and watch molasses being made. There was a petting zoo and face painting for the kids. You could also enjoy slow cooked BBQ and chicken, or even take a horse drawn wagon ride around the farm. If you were lucky, you just might meet Bob Elliott, Mark Hamrick, and James Elliott at the shed where they wereboiling sorghum juice into the molasses. Elliott Farms grows their own cane and produce hundreds of jars of the molasses. Besides offering an interesting and educational two day tour, Heritage Days was definitely a “feel good” time for anyone who was fortunate enough to attend.
