Aaron Anders Edwards, 69, of Shelby passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at his home.

Aaron was born on April 7, 1956 in Cleveland County and was a son of Hugh Wray Edwards and Margaret Pack Edwards Gettys. He was a partner at Beam, Edwards and Brooks constructing beautiful homes in Cleveland County and the surrounding area. Aaron was an active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, John Kenneth Gettys.

Aaron is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Barbara Dixon Edwards; son Jed Edwards and wife Christy of Palm Bay, FL; daughter, Andie Jo Guffey and husband Jason of Mooresboro; six grandchildren, Elijah Edwards, Isaiah Edwards, Jeremiah Edwards, Lincoln Guffey, Jacob Guffey, and Olivia Guffey; a great granddaughter, Ellie Monjaras and three brothers, Don Edwards and wife Darlene, Burl Edwards and wife Susie and Jody Edwards and wife Sandra all of Shelby.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM, Noon, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Hinton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
