Adam Neal Floyd

Adam Neal Floyd was an amazing father, son, brother, and uncle, who left this world suddenly, and way too soon, on October 21, 2023, at the young age of 39.

Champions are defined not by their natural talent, but by their determination, their mind, their passion, their grind. Adam was a true champion of life. Adam was born on December 8, 1983, to Al and Danna Floyd. Adam grew up in Polkville, NC. He became a big brother, when his sister, Brittany, was born. And then again, when his sister, Katy, was born. Adam was a mama's boy who loved his two sisters endlessly. Adam's love for sports was passed down from his daddy, especially the love of baseball. Adam played football and baseball throughout school, and quickly realized baseball was his passion. Adam wore #12 and excelled at short stop - playing for the Burns Bulldogs, Shelby Legion Post 82, and then went on to play Division 1 college baseball at UNC Charlotte. He held various jobs, until he discovered a love for teaching and coaching, where he inspired and mentored so many students. Adam also had a love for music, where his talents included singing, playing the guitar, and playing the drums. He was also an extremely talented artist, and loved drawing and sketching pictures for his family in his spare time. He enjoyed golfing with his dad, brother-in-laws, and friends. He put his heart into everything he did and was always there for those he loved. In baseball, and in life, all of the important things happen at home. When you were around Adam, you felt like you were home. Though he had many passions, Adam would tell you that his greatest love of all was his son, Avery. Adams greatest inning of his life was his time spent being a dad. Avery was Adam's entire world and they shared a bond like no other.

Adam was predeceased by his grandparents, Ray and Mary Jean Floyd, of Polkville, NC, and Jack and Mona Scism, of Kings Mountain, NC.

Adam is survived by his son, Avery; his parents, Al and Danna Floyd; his sister, Brittany Shaffer, and husband, Derek, as well as their three daughters, Madelyn, Mallory, and Charlie; his sister, Katy King, and husband, Heath, as well as their son, Grady; along with many other extended family members and friends who will miss him greatly.

Though it feels our hearts will never truly be healed, Adam, you will always be, our Angel in the outfield.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 4:30 pm at Polkville Methodist Church with the Dr. Anita Ware officiating.
