Aileen Rainey Brooks, 93, formerly of Duncan, SC, passed away on November 11, 2017 in Salisbury, NC.
Born March 3, 1924 in Madison County, NC, she was the daughter of William Jennings Rainey and Mamie Gorman Rainey of Shelby, NC. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church in Salisbury.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert David Brooks and a son Robert Brent Ferree and a sister, Cecile Browning of Shelby, NC.
Survivors include a son, Ronald D. Brooks and wife Glenda of Salisbury, NC, two grandsons, Dr. Walker D. Brooks and wife Therese of Charlotte, NC and Logan B. Brooks of Salisbury, NC, great granddaughter, Mia A Brooks of Salisbury, NC. In addition she is survived by two sisters, Vera Lanier of Shelby, NC and Naomi (Mayo) Younts of Shelby, NC (formerly of Lexington, NC) and multiple nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Vernon Thornhill, currently Chaplain for Hospice Care of SC.
