Alan Lamont Freeman

Mr. Alan Lamont Freeman, 46, of Muskegon, MI passed away in Muskegon on Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was born on December 27, 1973 in Cleveland County, NC to Dorothy Jackson Freeman and the late Bobby Freeman, Sr.

Alan was a 1992 graduate of Burns High School. He later attended South Piedmont College where he studied Industrial Engineering. This field of study led him in the field of car manufacturing. His employment included Save A Load in Charlotte, NC which later became Fleet Engineering. While employed with Fleet Engineering, he received certification in L.E.A.N. fundamentals training via the Ground Zero Workshop and relocated with the company, to Michigan around 2015. Seeking advancement in the field, he joined ADAC Automotive. His innovative ideas to improve productivity within the company proved valuable and earned him various certificates and acknowledgements from management executives.

Alan was a lover of life and was never afraid to try new things. Precocious from a youth, he taught himself Spanish and was an interpreter with Trojan Labor in Charlotte, NC. He also taught himself to play the keyboard. Alan loved people young and old alike. He volunteered at the Rutherford Correctional Facility in NC where he mentored inmates on accountability and responsibility before they were to be released back into society. He was a peacemaker and a joy bringer. When he walked into a room, the atmosphere changed. He was a pleasure to be around and his smile was hypnotizing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Freeman, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Theron and Christine Jackson and his paternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Lena Bell Freeman.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his mother, Dorothy Jackson of Charlotte, NC; step-father, Larry Hamilton, (Kim); a son, Tyjuan Patterson of Shelby, NC; two brothers, Bobby Freeman, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and Rodney "Rico" Freeman (Monica) of Gastonia, NC; two sisters, Barbara Ann Freeman of Charlotte and Tonya Murray (David) of Forest City, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; his "Michigan Family" which includes, Diane (Joe) and Nina; Brian, Mike, Miranda, Lindsay and the rest of the crew at ADAC and last but certainly not least his beloved pit bulldog and companion, Bliss.
