Albert Ray Chambers

Albert Ray Chambers, 72, passed away at home in the loving arms of his wife on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He was born April 14, 1952, in Cleveland County to the late William L.J. Chambers and Lillie Lockhart Chambers.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Chambers; brother, Ronnie Lee Chambers; father-in-law, Alan Hardin; and many other family members.

Ray attended Crest High School and received his high school diploma from CCC. He graduated from Cleveland Technical College with the highest honor of his curriculum in Electrical and HVAC-R. Ray was an ordained minister and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Earl, where he and his wife were Sunday School teachers. Over the years, he worked at Lily Mill, Bost Bakery, Sears, Master Temp, Shelby Heating & Air, Piat Heating & Air, and Cleveland Refrigeration. In his later years, he worked maintenance at Artesia Management Company, was employed by ABC Heating & Air, and ran his own business, A&L Heating & Air, and in his spare time he loved to fish and work in his garden.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 12 years, Angela "Angie" Louise Hardin Chambers; children, Samuel Chambers, Alicia Chambers, LeQuandra Ballen (Michael), Shawna Hargro (Kevin); 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, William Chambers, LaDonna Brooks (Andrew), Arthur J. Chambers (Deborah) Monica Barker and Keith Chambers (Rachel); mother-in-law, Margie Hardin; sisters-in-law, Carol Chambers, Julia Bridges, Charlene Guffey (Brent), Dawn Hicks (Jonathan); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025 at New Hope Church, 2621 Blacksburg Rd, Earl, NC 28038.

Ray's funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025, at New Hope Church in Earl with Rev. Russ Bradley officiating.

Interment will be private.
