Ali John Paksoy

Our loving brother, Ali John Paksoy passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019.

An army veteran, Ali John worked as a mechanic during his service in Kuwait and other countries. He loved being at the beach, having been stationed in Virginia Beach, spending much of his childhood going to Myrtle Beach, and later working for Folly Beach, SC.

Ali John is remembered as a loving and protective brother, son, grandson, uncle, cousin, and, above all, friend to many- especially the 2004 graduating class of Shelby High School. He could make an entire room light up in laughter.

Outside of the Carolina Panthers, UNC Tar Heels, and Charlotte Hornets, Ali John's greatest passion was that of his title of "uncle" to Makanakeakua Ali Castillo and Logan Da-Eun Paksoy. He is preceded in death by infant sister Amy Jayne Paksoy, Uncles Grayson Ward and Wesley Luckadoo, cousin Chris Luckadoo, Grandfather Ali Paksoy, Bonus Step- Grandfather Joesph DeVita, Grandmother Amy P Luckadoo, Grandfather Clevie Luckadoo, and Step-Grandmother Jewel Lail Luckadoo.

Ali John is also survived by siblings Kerry Paksoy and wife Yumi, Kay Paksoy Castillo and husband Ian, Kinslee Paksoy, and Ryan Paksoy, parents Lauren Luckadoo and John and Amy Paksoy, grandmother Jayne "Meme" Paksoy, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral will be held Saturday, January 19th at 1:00 pm at Cecil Burton Funeral Home in Shelby, NC. The Reverend Amy Brown will be officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
