Alice Marie Price

Alice Marie Price, 62, of Vale, entered her eternal life on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Alice was born on February 28, 1964, in Wake County and was the daughter of the late Thelton Luther Price and Janice Marie Wilson. She was a retired teacher who began her career in health and PE but found her true calling as a special education teacher for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Alice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was actively involved in various activities with a passion for the Blessing Box Ministry. She had a generous heart and found great joy in serving others.

She had a genuine love for nature and the outdoors, finding quiet joy in hiking, camping, traveling, and even the simple routine of mowing the grass. Her connection to the world around her showed in her compassion for animals and her desire to help others. She was also an avid reader who loved to get lost in a good book.

She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful taste in gifts for her great nieces and nephews and her talent for planning fun family outings. Whether she was organizing a day at a Durham Bulls baseball game, planning and preparing a family meal, or finding a new spot to explore, she loved bringing people together. Her kindness, generosity, and the happy memories she created will be cherished by her family and all who knew her.

Alice is survived by her partner of twenty-two years, Cheryl Dean Wright of Vale; her beloved dog, T-Bone; her sister, Anna Bowen (Daniel) of Longs, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Terry Wright (Jane) of Vale; sister-in-law, Ricki Barkley (Ruben) of Vale; aunt, Jennifer Melvin of Concord; five nieces and nephews, Kimberly Davis, Seth Barkley, Dustin Wright, Jessica Hilderbran and Haley Wright; and ten great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tommy Lineberger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Blessing Box, 2700 Trinity Church Road, Vale, NC 28168, or to the animal welfare organization of your choice.
