| Alive After Five Season Announced |

Uptown Shelby Association presents Alive After Five scheduled to begin in June. Concerts will be held on the first and third Thursdays of the summer, from 5:30- 8:30 pm, in Uptown Shelby on the Washington Street side of the Court Square. Excitement fills the air as the highly anticipated concert series schedule promises great entertainment. Come enjoy live music in Uptown Shelby as we celebrate the 18th year of music, festivities and fun.
Evergreen will take the stage on June 14th with their rock and roll bluegrass blend that is sure to blow you away. Come and celebrate America’s independence again on July 5th with The Air National Guard Band of the Smoky Mountains, a Concert Band comprised of talented musicians representing the Southeast region of the United States. The Folsom Prison Gang will take the stage on July 19th honoring the music of Johnny Cash and his rockabilly sound. On Aug. 2nd, Skinny Velvet will take one part blues and combine it with one part rock for a southern soul funk sound. Tater Family Traveling Circus will perform on Aug 16th, showcasing songs from their new CD expected to be released soon. Their blend of rock and roll will conclude this year’s concert series with a high energy celebration.

The Kid Zone was such a success last year that Shelby Savings Bank will sponsor this area again with fresh ideas, games and activities for kids of all ages. Come hungry because vendors will line the streets selling hot dogs, hamburgers, funnel cakes, orangeades, and Italian ice. Also, new this year is a Craft Beer Spotlight, presented by Fox Distributing in the beer garden. Fun activity will fill the streets of Shelby. You won’t want to miss Alive After Five this season!
And remember, Thinking Thursdays? Think Uptown. Alternating Thursdays with Alive After Five in Uptown Shelby’s Summer Cinema series at the Don Gibson Theatre. Admission is $1 accompanied with free popcorn. The family movies start June 14th at 7 pm.
