Allalee Davis Biggers

Allalee Davis Biggers, age 79, of Patterson Springs, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Carolina Healthcare System, Cleveland. She was born in Cleveland County, the second of four children, daughter of the late Truman A. Davis, Sr., and Mallie Bridges Davis. She was a life-long resident of Patterson Springs after moving there as a young child. She attended Number Three High School, earned her GED from Cleveland Community College and graduated from Shelby Beauty School. She was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. Over the course of her life, she worked at Bost Bakery, Baxter Corporation, Fiber Industries and A. V. Wray and 6 Sons. She managed her own business, Lee's Beauty Shop. After leaving A. V. Wray's, she worked with her husband of 63 ½ years, the late Bobby Gene Biggers, in their own farm equipment business. She was a loving wife, mother, and one of the greatest joys was being a special Nana to her grandson. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling, camping and going to the beach. She was a special lady to many people and she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents and her husband, Bobby, she is predeceased by a brother, Truman A. Davis, Jr. and a sister, Joyce Davis Bell.

Allalee is survived by a daughter, Randy Jean Biggers Carothers of Patterson Springs; a grandson, Chip Carothers and wife Katy of Columbia, SC; brother, Bill Davis and wife Ann of Simpsonville, SC; sister-in-law, Doris S. Davis of Lawndale; two brothers-in-law, John E. Biggers and wife Nancy of Morehead City; Nelson Biggers and wife Linda of Shelby, and many loving nieces and nephews. Special close family friends over the years, Faye and Gordon Putnam of Winston-Salem, Bob and Myrtle Ridge of Shelby, Ray Heffner of Patterson Springs, and her hairdresser, Joyce Bridges.

The family would like to express thanks to Dr. Ferrell, Dr. Taylor, Dr. Coalson, Progressive Care and ICU nurses, the staff of 4 East and Hospice for the care and compassion shown to our loved one over the last three weeks.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Patterson Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Waters, and the Rev. Priscilla B. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. before the service.
