Allen "Al" Hoover
Allen "Al" Hoover, age 80, of Forest City, died November 21, 2015 at the Charles George VA Center in Asheville.
Born November 29, 1934 in Frederick, Oklahoma, he was a son of the late Clarence Leroy Hoover and Lela Porter Hoover. He was a graduate of Manitou High School, class of 1954 and a veteran of the US Army. Allen had the distinction of working for the White House Advance Team for the Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson Administrations. He also worked as a Service Technician for the Mosler Safe Company for thirty-five years before retirement. Allen was a member of Chase Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Phyllis A. Hoover; five sons, Dean Barron and wife, Robin of Forest City, Bruce Hoover and Larry Hoover both of Florida, Alan Hoover and wife, Melissa of Henrietta and Kevin Hoover of Forest City; three daughters, Kim Hoover of Florida, Arlene Hoover of Nolanville, Texas and Vivian Parker and husband, Timothy of Henrietta; one brother, David Hoover and wife, Linda of Davidson, Oklahoma. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two special nieces, Stacia Boyd and husband, Mark of Henrietta, Texas and Jamie Wilson and husband, Ron of Wichita Falls, Texas.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Chase Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
