Allen Dean Caldwell, Sr.
 FOREST CITY  – Allen Dean Caldwell, Sr., “Sundrop”, 72, of Big Island Road, Forest City, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013. A native of Rowan County, he was born on September 11, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Aleander and Lilly Ethel Morris Caldwell; a brother, Bobby Jack Caldwell; one grandson, Rboert Allen Shea.
 
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 45 years, Doris Campbell Caldwell; one son, Allen Dean Caldwell, Jr., and wife Amy of Forest City; three daughters, Nancy Juanita Caldwell of Forest City, Rose Caldwell Lee and husband Frank and Rita Ann Caldwell of Spindale; honorary son and daughters, Tom and Cathy Kozlowski; ten grandchildren, Jessica Caldwell, Jacob Alexander wife Kesha, Kati Alexander, Rebecca Johnston, Brian Johnston, Wesley Alexander, Isaac Caldwell, Matthew Maze, Sissy Cox, and Mark Cox; honorary grandsons, Rob and Dave Kozlowski; seven great-grandchidlren, Phil, Johnny, Graham, Maddison, Mikah, Marilyn and Aubrey.
 
Allen spent many years working with Spindale Mills where he retired after becoming disabled in 1998. He was of the Baptist faith and a firm and faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, he adored all “HIS” kids. He treated everybody the same, no matter what. He never met a stranger and called everybody darling. He opened his heart and home to anyone in need. This lil’ man will be dearly missed by so many people, but we all know that one day we will see him again.
 
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, March 01, 2013, at A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thurston Green and Rev. Ted Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
