Ambrose Zane Yarbro

Ambrose Zane Yarbro, 98, of Vale, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Carolina Caring Sherrills Ford Hospice House.

Born in Lincoln County, on November 20, 1924, he was a son of the late Bert Guylo Yarbro and Bertha Sain Yarbor. He was a retired apple farmer and from Carolina Freight Carriers. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the DAV. He served in the US Army Air Corp During World War II.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Irene Lackey Yarbro; son, Chris Yarbro; and seven brothers and sisters, Raymond, Nora, Loy, Clara, Hazel, Lillian and Flay.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Willis and husband Sherrill of Lawndale; five grandchildren, Justin Willis and wife Chelsea, Jesse Willis and wife Emily, Richard Abernathy, Robin Jenkins, and Terra Little; five great grandchildren, Laura Willis, Cheyenne Smith, Dylan Jenkins, Cole Little, and Conner Little and one great great grandchild, Jett Jenkins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hebron Methodist Church, Vale

The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12:00 PM at Hebron Methodist Church with the Ms. Forrestene Sain and Rev. Steve Houser officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Memorial may be made to Hebron Methodist Church, 8121 South Hebron Church Rd., Vale, NC 28168..
