Amelia Padgett Richards, age 80 of Mooresboro, NC, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

She was born February 2, 1945 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Paul Royce Padgett and the late Ruth Jean Martin Padgett. Amelia was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved to take care of her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as very strong, resilient and generous woman.

Amelia is survived by her husband Dale Richards, her children Alison Smith, Steven Weast, Michael Weast (Lynn) and Angie Richards Millwood and her husband Shane, grandchildren; Jessie, Stephen, Jacob, Tyler, Christoper, Brandy, Haley, Justin, Lilly and Grayson and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Amelia was preceded in death by her son Christopher Paul Guffey and her sister Joanna Padgett Graves.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC. The memorial service will follow at 12:00pm in the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC with Reverend Tim Worthy officiating. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
