Angela S. Scoggins, age 65, of Cliffside, NC, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She was born on October 25, 1952 in Rutherford County to the late Howard Edward Splawn and Mary Ellen Fortenberry Splawn. Angie was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1971 and graduated from Spartanburg Technical College. She was a faithful member of Fairview Missionary Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to yard sales and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and fellowshipping with her church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lemuel Splawn; two sisters, Karen O'Connor and infant, Mary Splawn.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of forty-five years, Grover "Sonny" Scoggins; son, Dustin Scoggins and fiancé, Angela Green of Cliffside; one sister, Rita Splawn of Rutherfordton; three brothers, Ronald "Rusty" Splawn and wife, Shelba of Chase Community, Michael Splawn and wife, Suzanne of El Paso, TX, Reverend James "Jimmy" Splawn and wife, Rebecca of Huntington, Indiana; brother-in-law, James O'Connor. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brooklyn White, Noah Scoggins, Kenan Scoggins, Sebastian Scoggins, Kaylee Green and Casandra Green.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dean Cox and Reverend Jim Splawn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At other times the family will be gathered at 543 Hines Road, Mooresboro, NC.
