Annie Bell Johnson Eskridge

Annie Bell Johnson Eskridge, 88, of Shelby, NC, went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2024.

She was born on August 5, 1936 in Jonesville, SC, to the late Listine Johnson and the late Wardell Gault, Sr.
She worked with United Way as a Foster Grandparent at James Love Elementary School in the Cleveland County School System. She retired from White Oak Manor, having served in the kitchen for more than fifteen years.
Mrs. Eskridge was a member of Hoppers Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mass Choir, kitchen committee, and a regular Bible study member. She loved the Lord; her church family; and helping people. She loved baking buttermilk and pecan pies; cooking for family and friends. She liked attending family functions and outings, yet just know, she would be the first to leave after greeting everyone. She was an avid walker during her young adult years. While living in the Hickory Creek Senior apartment development, she was the friendly neighbor who helped everyone out by doing chores and helping around their apartments.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lee Eskridge.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Freddie Stafford, Sr.; grandson, Freddie Stafford, Jr.; brother, Wardell Gault, Jr.; sisters, Wille Mae Parks (Aunt Pete); special niece, Amanda Johnson; special nieces, Amanda Johnson, Donna Mance, Rhonda Mance, and Phyllis Mance; special friend, Faye Allison Byrd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
