Annie Mae Berry

Annie Mae Berry, 82, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 10, 2018. She was born in Cherokee County, SC, to the late Samuel Teal Childers and Margaret Myrtle Mauney Childers and was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Thomas "Tom" Berry. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Lou Ann Berry and a brother, Ray Childers. Annie Mae was a graduate of Grover High School and retired from Kings Mountain District Schools in June 2003 where she served as a cafeteria manager. She was a long time member of Dixon Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking and canning the vegetables that she had grown in her garden. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden. Annie Mae enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving woman who welcomed everyone into her home. Annie Mae was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Charlie Berry and wife Debbie, Kings Mtn, NC;

Andy Berry and wife Angela, Kings Mtn, NC;

1 Daughter: Brenda Berry Cogdell and husband Johnny, Kings Mtn, NC

Grandchildren: Amanda Williams and husband John, Suzanne Poston and husband Jonathon, William Berry and wife Ashley, Taylor and Anthony Berry, Christopher Speicher and wife Laura, Michael and Joshua Speicher, JJ, Casey and Paige Cogdell

Great Grandchildren: Levi and Luke Williams, Emily, Harper and Stella Poston, Abby Speicher and Huntley Lemmons

Brothers: Robert Childers, Kings Mountain, NC and James Childers and wife Margaret, Kings Mountain, NC

Sister: Mary Goforth, Kings Mountain, NC

The family would like to extend a special thanks to our ladies that cared for her: Sonja Greene, Shirley Medlin, Cindy Moore, Christina Sizemore, Kasey Brown, Sarah Coyle and Catherine Wilson.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Dixon Presbyterian Church with Reverends Randy Patterson, Graham Wood and Brian Elwell officiating.

VISITATION: Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
