She also enjoyed cooking for her family on special occasions and looked forward to seeing them on Sunday afternoons. Her family especially enjoyed her creamed corn, pecan pie, and pound cake.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Carl Gordon Carpenter, her five brothers Alvin, Fred, J.C., Cecil, and Charles Propst, two sisters Selma Brackett and Poneze Propst, and son-in-law Gerald Strickland. Annie is survived by her daughter Myra Strickland of Shelby, her son Joe Carpenter (Janet Heitgerd) of Atlanta, GA, her granddaughter Leslie Queen (Jimmy), and her great-grandson Adam Queen of Shelby. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the Fellowship Hall of Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church.
