| April Is Sexual Assault Awareness Month |

For the second year in a row, the Cleveland County Abuse Prevention Council has placed flags on the court square in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In 2010 there were 100 crisis calls in the county and rose to 144 calls in 2011. The increase in calls is attributed to the success of the Council making citizens aware of this issue. Operations Manager, Donna Sellers said that “more community education is allowing us to help more people”.
