Area towns plan Independence Day activities
Lattimore Little Miss 2017

Casar
Casar's July Fourth celebration will be held from
10 a.m. - 10 p.m. at Casar Park and will feature live music, games, a pancake eating contest, a scavenger hunt, a turtle race, door prizes, a bounce house and a water slide. Other activities will include the "Crusin Casar Car Show," a chili cook off (starting at 2 p.m.) and a talent show. A fireworks show will end the day's festivities. Cherryville
The City of Cherryville's Independence Day Celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Downtown Mini Park in Cherryville. The band "Too Much Sylvia" and DJ John Barkley will provide entertainment from 6-10 p.m., and the fireworks display will begin afterwards. Food vendors and adult beverages will be available, as well as games for kids. Those planning to attend are asked to bring lawn chairs.
Crouse
Crouse will hold its annual Fourth of July parade at 4 p.m. Participants will line up starting at 3 p.m. at the Crouse United Methodist Church located on Pleasant Grove Church Road in Crouse. Fallston
Fallston will host its annual Fun Fest on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with an opening ceremony at Fallston Elementary School, 112 Gary Street, Fallston. Music with DJ Calvin Hastings will then continue until 7 p.m., when the band "Dirty Grass Soul" will perform. From 5:30-8:30 p.m. there will be a variety of activities including a cake walk, kids games and rides. Kings Mountain
The City of Kings Mountain's festivities begin at 6 p.m. and will include a live band, food vendors, inflatables, a drum circle, a living history encampment, and a scene performed from "Liberty Mountain - The Revolutionary Drama," about the Battle of Kings Mountain. Lattimore
The annual Fourth of July parade in Lattimore will begin at
9 a.m. The parade route will begin on Oak Drive, continue on Main Street and conclude at Lattimore Baptist Church (LBC) Recreation Park. A program featuring recognition of veterans and a performance by the "Shady Oak Ramblers," will be held following the parade at

Mooresboro
The Town of Mooresboro will have its Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, beginning at 6 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by "Golden Valley Crusaders." Food will be available for purchase, and inflatables will be available for children. A fireworks display will begin at dark. Those planning to attend are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Shelby
Shelby's July 4th celebration will take place at the City Park beginning at 9 a.m. with a horse shoe tournament at the Sports Complex Horseshoe Pits. This will be followed by a corn hole tournament in the city park gym at 10:30 a.m. Cash prizes will be given for first and second places in each tournament. It will also be $1 Day at the city pool, with everyone admitted for $1 from
