Arnold Dean Cook, 77, of Vale, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2026 at Carolina Caring in Newton.

Arnold was born on November 2, 1948, in Cleveland County and was the son of the late Roy Franklin Cook and Ruby Lee Willis Cook. He was retired from the Lincoln County Tax Department and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Arnold enjoyed the outdoors spending many hours gardening, beekeeping, hunting, camping and playing cornhole. Arnold also serviced in the US Army as a medic in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Carolyn Dianne Cook; son, Aaron Cook of Vale; stepfather, Elbert Cook of Casar; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Cook and wife Janet and Ricky Cook of Vale and other loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM from 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 3:00 PM at Mt Vernon Baptist Church in Vale, NC, with the Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
