Artist and Studio Continue A Tradition

Phillip Philbeck and the Victorian Rose Studio owner Tracy Stillwell have donated a print to the Boys & Girls Club for the eighth year in a row. The tradition started in 2008, when Elwyn Stillwell and Phillip Philbeck donated their first piece of artwork to the Boys & Girls Club to be sold during the live auction held as part of the Annual Car Raffle and Auction. It was Elwyn's hope that the artwork would raise about $600 which is the cost to sponsor one child at the Club.
The print being donated this year to the Boys & Girls Club this year is a very special piece of artwork. It is from Phillip Philbeck's personal collection and is 1 of only 3 in existence. It is an APP or Artist Personal Proof called "Smoky Mountain Grandeur". These prints are not even available for sale and can only be obtained when Phillip graciously agrees to part with one. This makes them extremely rare and of a much greater valuable. The matting and framing was provided by The Victorian Rose Photography Studio. This beautiful framed artwork has a value of $700.
Tracy Stillwell, Elwyn's daughter and owner of Victorian Rose Studio shared that she and Phillip continue the tradition of donating the framed piece of artwork as a way to remember the generosity and giving nature of her Dad.
"Smokey Mountain Grandeur" will be auctioned on Friday, June 19 during the Fiftieth Car Raffle and Auction held at Goforth Hall, Cleveland County Fairgrounds.
To purchase a ticket for the car raffle, contact a Board member of the Boys & Girls Club, call the Club at 704 471 2582 or stop by and see Josh Propst at 412 West Sumter Street.
