Barbara Ann Bridges Parker

Barbara Ann Bridges Parker, age 84, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at her home in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on February 8, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Geraldine Bridges Dover. Barbara worked for many years Accutrol Tax and Accounting, and was still a part time employee, and was also the former owner of E&W Accounting. She was a long time member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, now Pleasant City Church. Barbara was also a former volunteer for the Cleveland County Women's Shelter and was a committee member who helped to establish the Don Gibson Theater.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 65, Robert "Vic" Parker, one daughter Vicki Parker and two sons; Dwayne Parker and wife Teresa, and Mark Parker and Theda all of Shelby, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Cleveland Memorial Park with Rev. Brian Gilsson officiating. Mrs. Parker will lie in repose at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for those who wish to pay their respects and sign the register book, the family will not be present during this time..

It is requested that those in attendance wear face coverings and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations may be made to an organization of the donor's choice in her memory.
