Barbara Ann Knappenberger McDaniel

Barbara Ann Knappenberger McDaniel, age 83, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC.

Born in Georgia on April 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles Robert Knappenberger and Rachel Rosalie Barker Sims. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John WilliamKnappenberger. Ann was a long-time member of Central United Methodist Church. Her dedication to the church led to her employment as the Financial Secretary for many years.

Ann also committed her time to the United Methodist Women, the Joy Circle and the Altar Guild. Outside of church, she enjoyed her book club and garden club. Ann had a passion for the Girls Scouts and spent more than 25 years serving both the Hornet's Nest and Pioneer Councils. During that time, she volunteered in multiple positions as well as serving on the Board of Directors.

Ann's love for children and family was obvious as she talked about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her positive nature and gentle spirit were noticed by all who knew her.

Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby D. McDaniel, daughters, Cherrie Moore (Jeff) and Debbie Kale (Vince), her grandchildren, Chris Moore (Anna), Courtney Moore, Ashley Cobb (Tim), Emily Kale, and Sydney Kale. Ann is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Alivia, and Ava Cobb.

A private graveside service for family will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, NC.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to White Oak Manor of Shelby and

Hospice of Cleveland County for their love and care for Ann.
