Barbara Ann Moss Evans died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Peak Resources of Shelby. Born June 15, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Curtis Glenn Moss and Pauline Wylie Moss. Barbara worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse but left to focus on her children as they grew up, later she returned to her nursing career. She held a strong Christian faith; even in her illness she worked to better the lives of others with her crocheting projects to support various missions. Barbara herself went on several mission trips both in the U.S. and internationally. She loved her family deeply and treasured her time with her grandchildren especially crafting together. She met her husband, Randall, on a blind date and after a short engagement they enjoyed 47 years of life together.

In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Moss and her sister Violet Moss Webber as well as her beloved cocker spaniel Raleigh.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Randall Evans, her son Jason Evans and wife Pam of Shelby and her daughter Angela Patterson and husband Jason of Cherryville. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Gabriel Patterson, Madison Patterson, Kayla Evans, Kara Evans, Kamdon Evans, Emily Evans and Ava Evans and one great granddaughter, Luna Taylor.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Monday, August 7, 2017 at Christopher Road Baptist Church, with Pastor Michael Tucker and Minister Daniel Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends the evening prior, Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 1:30 pm until 3 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
