Barbara Grant Lail

Barbara Grant Lail passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Born in Cleveland County on December 24, 1937 to the late D.L. and Jessie Burgess Grant.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings; Ella Mae Parrish, Dorothy (Dot) Curry, Wanda Gettys, Sam Grant and Jack Grant.

Barbara married the love of her life, Earl, in October of 1954. After they married, she spent her years working in the textile Mills. When she retired, she enjoyed walking with her friends at the mall. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. Barbara gave her life to Christ in 1948 and spent her life in church. She was a faithful member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church and served in the church's nursery and funeral committees for many years. She knew Jesus Christ to be her savior and friend. She is now in His arms, free of pain and suffering, for eternity.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Earl J. Lail; daughter Lea Ann and Son-in-law Jeff Gragg, Granddaughter Kate and grandson Joe, and future grandson-in-law Logan McNeely. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers; Billy and Randy Grant, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Gary and Kathy Kester and Pat Honeycutt.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to Ana Kubu, her special hospice nurse who is truly an angel here on Earth, and all of the precious Hospice nurses that were so gracious to our family in our time of need.

To honor the life of Barbara, a funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2024 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mulls Memorial Baptist Church, 3299 Fallston Road, Shelby, NC 28150 or VIA Health Partners, P.O. Box 470408 Charlotte, NC 28247
