Barbara Hoyle, formerly of 123 College Manor Drive, Boiling Springs, NC, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Peak Resources Cherryville.

She lived an abundant, happy life. She was 91, and passed peacefully surrounded by her family.

Barbara was born on April 9th, 1933, the daughter of the late Claude McKnight and Maude Lee Lancaster McKnight. A lifelong resident of Cleveland County, Barbara retired from Harris Teeter and was an active member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church until her health declined. She loved Jesus, her family, and was a good friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking special meals-especially desserts-for her children and grandchildren, traveling, shopping at Belk's, and chatting with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lester Hoyle, and her oldest son, Robert Terry Hoyle, as well as siblings, Hawthorne Lancaster, James McKnight, Weldon McKnight, and Eiron West.

She is survived by her children Juan Eric Hoyle of Casar, NC; Don Deric Hoyle and wife Elina of Concord, NC; Wendy Hoyle Mode of Shelby, NC; and Dawn Hoyle Blackburn and husband Jamie of Kings Mountain, NC. She was loved abundantly by her twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be on April 12, 2024, from 1 until 2 pm at Westwood Heights Baptist Church in Shelby with the funeral following at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, NC.
