Barbara Putnam Holcomb

Barbara Putnam Holcomb, 73, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on October 5, 2024 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

She was born June 22, 1951 in Cleveland County, daughter of the late David Paul Putnam and Betty Greene Putnam. Barbara always had a big heart, eager to give generously and put others' needs ahead of her own. She frequently donated anonymously to try and improve situations for others in the community. She attended and grew up at Patterson Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Barbara was well-known for her signature cherry crunch, orange balls, sausage balls, which she always brought at Christmastime and special gatherings. She loved the holidays and beach trips with her beloved family, along with spending time with her best friends, whom she always referred to as her "girls." Barbara was a doting and dedicated caregiver to her fur-babies. She was a loving friend, mother, daughter, and sister. She was always there for her sisters when they needed her. As a single mother, Barbara went through some rough times, but she always managed to achieve her goals in life. She also accomplished the ultimate goal in life of finding Jesus and giving her life to him. The memory of her love, warmth, and kindness will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

Sisters: Sheila Putnam Breckheimer and husband, John, of Pensacola, FL; Paulette Putnam of Kings Mountain, NC; and Sharon Putnam Allen and husband, Rex, of Kings Mountain, NC
Niece: Savannah Horne Owens and husband, Jackson
Nephew: Austin Allen
Barbara is additionally survived by her "girls" Freida, Vickie, Pat, and Gail, special friend Bob Bigger, her granddog Snoopy, and her feline fur-baby Skunky.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain, North Carolina with Reverend Brad Bridges and Chaplain Pete Gilbert officiating.

VISITATION: Following the service at Mountain Rest Cemetery.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
