Bea Sowers

SHELBY- Bea Sowers, born on March 12, 1952, in Cleveland County, left this world peacefully on July 30, 2026, with her beloved husband by her side. She was 74 years old.

Bea lived a life filled with love and joy, and her presence touched the hearts of all who knew her. Known for her honesty and fiery spirit, she was as "honest as the day is long," yet could be fisty when provoked. To her family and friends, Bea was a source of unwavering support and inspiration.

Adored by her husband, Gary Sowers, whom she shared 30 beautiful years of marriage with, Bea found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in feeding the hummingbirds that fluttered around her garden and treasured every moment spent playing with her cherished dog, Angel.

Bea's legacy of love continues through her surviving family: her devoted husband, Gary; her son, Doug Morehead, and his wife, Lisa; her sisters, Barbara White and her husband, Rick, and Brenda Proctor and her husband, Truitt; her brother, Norris Head and his wife, Linda; and her adored nieces, Amy, Laura, Maloney, and Suzie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Selma Head.

A celebration of Bea's life will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with Pastor Landon Propst officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share their memories one hour before the service.

In this time of remembrance, let us celebrate the wonderful life of Bea Sowers, a woman whose love, honesty, and vibrant spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
