Beekeepers Get “Honey House”
Cleveland County Beekeepers Association members (left to right), Doug Blanton, Kim Hamrick, Loyd Lewis and Annie Thompson welcome the new “Honey House”.
The Cleveland County Beekeepers Association received a grant from RAFI USA (Rural Advancement Financial International) for the construction of a honey extraction facility. The building, which just arrived on May 8th, will be permanently housed in the back parking lot of the County Office Building at 130 South Post Road. in Shelby. When totally functional, Association members will be able to use the “Honey House” for extraction and bottling. The new facility will make the laborious and messy task of extraction much more efficient for beekeeper members. A training program will be offered to prepare members on the proper use of the house.
