Ben "Pete" Elmer Page

Ben "Pete" Elmer Page, 88, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on May 04, 2021 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Ben Palmer and Alice Gantt Page and was preceded in death by his brothers, Vester and Bobby Page, and his sisters, Irene Perry, Myrtle Roberts, Grace Ruff, and Helen Cash. Pete was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rita Faye Page and a granddaughter, Misty Faye Beach. He was a longtime member of Sunrise Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. Pete worked in the textile industry before leaving to become a full time plumber. He never met a stranger, he loved people and treated everyone equally regardless of their station in life. He spent many hours outside, tending to his garden and working in the yard. Pete enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting the mountains. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. His love, guidance and devotion will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved him.

SURVIVORS: Wife of sixty-nine years: Betty Howell Page, of the home

Sons: Robert Nolen Page and William Palmer Page (Dana), both of Kings Mountain

Grandchildren: Amanda Smith (Billy), Sarah, Rachel, and Eric Page

Great Grandchildren: Madison and Makynlee McMurry, Christopher and Allison Smith, Aiden Holloway, Nathan Dean, and Kayla Poston

Great-Great Grandchildren: Piper, Camden, Ryker, Atticus, and Tatum Smith, and Mason Poston

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dennis Harmon officiating

VISITATION: Friday, May 7, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery
