Bennie Sue McIntyre Mitchell

Bennie Sue McIntyre Mitchell, age 77, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 while at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Forest City, NC.

Bennie Sue was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend. She touched so many lives with her kindness and dedication to the needs of others. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She also volunteered her time and energy at the New Beginnings Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed working in her yard and feeding "her" chickens. She held many different jobs over the years including the cafeteria at Chase High School and then driving a school bus for Rutherford, Henderson and Buncombe counties.

She is survived by her children, Worth H (Pete) Mitchell III and wife Terri, Crystal Laws and Michael Mitchell Sr. Her grandchildren, Trey Mitchell and wife Katlin, Paul Mitchell and wife Heidi, Amber Harrill and husband Brandon, Michael Mitchell Jr. and wife Kylie, Jacob Walker, Taylor Sims and husband Brandon, Haygen Davis, Hunter Mitchell, Kenna Laws, Grayson Mitchell. Great-grandchildren Bailee Harrill, Mason Harrill, Kolten Mitchell, Tanner Sims, Emersyn Mitchell, Paisley Mitchell, McKinley Sims, Harrison Sims, Hadleigh Mitchell and Tynlee Mitchell. Sister Trudy Fancher, brothers Steve McIntyre and Bennie MacEntyre, and a host of very special nieces and nephews that she loved as her own children.

Bennie Sue was preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Mary Sue McIntyre, her husband Worth Mitchell Jr., sister Martha Goode and brother Jerry McIntyre.

A Celebration of Bennie Sue's Life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 563 Pleasant Hill Church Rd., Rutherfordton. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary from 4 - 5 pm and the service will be at 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their exceptional care of our Maw-maw.
