Bernice "Bea" Porter Justis, 93, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2018 in Clearwater, FL. Bernice (Bea) is preceded in death by her parents Marshall Davis Humphries and Pearl Kennedy Humphries, brothers Edwin Yates Humphries, Earl Jennings Humphries and Donald Bryson Humphries and sisters Phyrnia Lee Humphries, Jessie Hammock Van Sleen, and Hattie Mae Childrez, husbands Joseph Mills Porter and Homer R. Justis, and daughter Martha Jo Porter Yelton.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Porter Fitzpatrick (husband James), son-in-law, Robert "Bob" Yelton; grandchildren Joseph Porter Fitzpatrick (Ashley), James Marshall Fitzpatrick, and Madeline Fitzpatrick Barnes (Eric), Porter Leland Yelton; great-grandchildren Hannah Alexandra Barnes and Jordan Patrick Barnes, and several nieces and nephews.

Bea was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church (200 East Marion Street, Shelby NC 28150) and was a supporter of Habitat for Humanity (323 W. Grover Street, Shelby NC 28150) and The American Cancer Society (1901 Brunswick Ave Suite 100 Charlotte NC 28207). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to these organizations.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Rev .Mark Barden officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. A private family burial was held at Cleveland Memorial Park.
