| Bertha Edna Walker Spake, 96, of 111 Harrilson Rd. formerly of Dick Spangler Rd. died, Thursday August 23, 2012 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.
Born August 20, 1916 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Johnathan Mitchell Walker and Eliza Brackett Walker. She was a lifetime member of Buffalo Baptist Church and was a retired winder at Dover Textiles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lynn Spake, three brothers, Roy Walker, J.C. Walker and Flay Walker, and two sisters, Gracie Williams and Macie Williams.
Survivors include two sisters, Ellerea Bolin of Shelby, and Irene Ross of Fallston, step daughter, Bessie Lee Conley of Shelby, step granddaughter, Betty Jean Willis of Elizabeth City, caretakers, Bob & Dot Russ of Shelby, and numerous nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00PM Saturday at Buffalo Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be at 3:00PM Saturday at Buffalo Baptist Church with the Revs. Max Turner & Ernie Blanton officiating.
Burial will follow at Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery.
