Betti Dean Hoyle Bumgardner, 83 of Forest City and formerly of Kings Mountain, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Fair Haven of Forest City.

Born in Gaston County, NC on August 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Grover Lee Hoyle and Annie Mae Bice Messer. She was retired from HomeTrust Bank and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Bumgardner and two sisters, Jackie Scism and Imogene Curtis.

Survivors include two sons, David Bumgardner and wife, Diane of Forest City and Rob Bumgardner and wife, Alah of Topsail Island; two sisters, Diane Hamrick and husband, James of Kings Mountain and Juanita Fleming and husband, Dean of Kings Mountain; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mountain Rest Cemetery with Rev. Dale Welch and Rev. Steve Fletcher officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Mountain Rest Cemetery.
