Betty Bowen Hemmingsen Martin, 90, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at her daughter's home in Conway.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Lela Queen Bowen. She retired as a nurse, and attended Sweetwater Branch Baptist Church in Conway.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald L. Hemmingsen; and second husband, Charles H. Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila H. Yates and husband James; son, David L. Hemmingsen and wife Rilla; stepson, Shawn Martin and wife Leondra; stepdaughter, Kimberly Jessup; brother, Ron Queen and wife Sandra; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and close friends, Ray and Gerlean Rolfes.

A private family service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mulls Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sweetwater Branch Baptist Church, 1436 HWY 544, Conway, SC 29526
