Betty Crowe Hastings, 87, affectionately known as "Miss Betty", passed away Friday January 20, 2023 at Fair Haven Home in Bostic, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on August 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Fay Crowe and Vetra Greene Crowe. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 23 years Clyde Donald Hastings, Sr., brother James Gilbert "Dud" Crowe and son-in-law, Rocky Mankins.

Betty was a 1956 graduate of the Shelby school of nursing. She loved nursing and serving others. She and Don spent most of their marriage living all over the country as Don served in the U.S. Air Force. She served Boiling Springs Baptist Church Day Care for 21 years in the infant room, and then as the Day Care Director. She loved children, especially babies.

Betty is survived by her four children, Donny Hastings (Catherine), Sherri Glenn (John), Sandy van der Poel (Jack), and Susan White (Joel). Additionally, she is survived by six grandchildren, Tyler Mankins (Mandy), Lee Glenn (Erica), James Glenn (Caitlin), Kelsey Urban (Howie), Tripp Hastings (Lizzie), and Alex Hastings, as well as four great grandchildren, a sister Nancy Funderburk, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Fair Haven Home in Bostic for their dedicated care of Mrs. Hastings.

A funeral service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, January 22, 2023 in the Life Enrichment Center of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00PM in the LEC. Burial will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 23 at Cleveland Memorial Park.
