Betty Doris Rash, age 83, of Forest City, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Betty was born December 16, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Roscoe Burgess and Laura Jane Radford Burgess. She worked at Mastercraft Mill for many years and was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Forest City. Betty enjoyed baking and craftwork. Her greatest joy was spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Robert Rash; five brothers and three sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Scott Rash and wife, Amanda of Rutherfordton; two daughters, Sherry Morrow and husband, Ricky and Paula McMellion and husband, Roger all of Forest City; sister, Margaret Hodge also of Forest City. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, David Morrow (Tanya), Brandi Boone (Brian), Katelyn Murray (Tyler), Madison Greene, Christon Taylor (Jeremy), Ashley McWhirter (Dustin), Amanda Hutchins (Ty), Clinton McMellion and twelve great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Eric Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
