Betty J. Waters, age 81, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her residence.
Betty was born November 10, 1937 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Buford Henson and Ruby Hames Henson. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1958 and worked at Sunshine Pre-School in Chesnee for twenty years. She was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served in Vacation Bible School and Awanas. Betty loved taking pictures of her grandkids and crocheting. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Joe Henson and Rondle Henson and a sister, Vickie McKinney.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-eight years, Samuel Waters; two daughters, Lisa Starnes and husband, Timothy and Crystal Robbins all of Mooresboro; son, Jason Waters and wife, Jana of Mooresboro; sister, Barbara Gardner of Mooresboro and three brothers, Dewitt Henson and wife, Barbara of Chesnee, Gene Henson and Clyde Henson and wife, Shirley all of Mooresboro. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amber Green (Dustin), Miranda Hudson (Chris), Taylor Waters, Tanner Waters and Ethan Gardner (Hannah); six great-grandchildren, C.J. Green, Dacie Green, Drayton Green, Daxton Green, Callie Hudson and Cora Hudson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Hicks Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Byrd and Reverend Buddy Robbins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 on Monday at the funeral home.
