Betty Jean Thompson

Betty Jean Thompson,77, of 3031 River Rd. Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

She was born on December 14, 1942 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Robert Falls, Sr. and the late Annie Mae Thompson Falls.

Betty Thompson was physically and will be spiritually a big part of a lot of people's lives. When she met you, you were greeted with a hug and a kiss and when you departed you departed with a hug and a kiss. All of her life she made sure that her family and her relatives were well taken care of which included making sure that her relatives had a way to the store to shop for food, clothes, toys for the kids, etc. She also had a very, very close relationship with her sister Florene (Fib) Thompson. They made sure that they always lived as close to each other as possible no matter where one was so was the other one. When she moved to Shelby North Carolina over 40 years ago from Belwood North Carolina, everyone knew her as Aunt Betty. She owned several bibles that she prayed from wherever she was. She loved God as she believed in the Word of God.

Our mother was a wonderful mother and a very loved mother and will be missed very much for the rest of our days for the many years that she worked and provided for us. She was a very hard worker and a very good provider. Love you and miss you.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donell Thompson.

She leaves fond and lasting memories to her six sons plus an additional son, James Thompson (Sarah), Donnie Thompson (Donnie), Howard Thompson and Terry Thompson all of Shelby, Danny Thompson (Yolanda) of Harrisburg, NC, Jimmy Thompson (Yolanda) of Chesapeake, VA and Edward Walker (Michelle) of Shelby; two sisters, Florene Thompson of Shelby and Angela Falls of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Robert Lewis Falls of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Jasmine Thompson, Tyrice Wimbush, Travis Ussery, Brandon Miller, Joshua Clark, Rita Williams, Travis McCain, Keyannah Glover, Whitney Thompson, Howard Thompson, Jr., Nathan Bryson, Kimola Williford, Danny Thompson, Jr., Terron Mack, Qadry Thompson (Harmony), Andre Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Jr. and Rylee Thompson; a host of great-grandchildren; three aunts, Martha Clark, Bessie Williamson and Marie Williamson; special cousins, Lillie Ruth Harris and Bobby Thompson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
