Betty Littlejohn

Betty Littlejohn, 55, of Shelby, NC passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby.

She was born on February 16, 1966 in Cleveland County, NC to Edward Lee Gullatte, Sr. and the late Maggie Sims Gullatte.

Betty was a 1984 graduate of Shelby High School. After graduation, she worked at Metrolina Plastic for several years. From there, she attended Cleveland Community College and received her CNA II in nursing. Upon graduation, she worked for Cleveland Pines Nursing Center for 15 years. She was currently employed with Helping Hands.

Betty was a member of Hoppers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She loved caring for others especially the elderly and helping to raise her grandchildren. Overall, she will be remembered for her smile and being a good and loving person to everyone.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Rodney N. Littlejohn.

Her memory is left to be cherished by her father, Edward Lee Gullatte, Sr.; two sons, Travis O'Neal Gullatte and Edward Terrell Gullatte; one daughter, LeKendra Sheree Gullatte; god-daughters, Markeela Foster and Tytiana Degree; four brothers, Edward, Gullatte, Jr., Timothy Gullatte, Sr., Anthony Gullatte (Tara) and Calvin Patterson; one sister, Debra Gullatte Hall; step-sisters, Sherry Wray and Kenya Hicks; mother-in-law, Barbara Whiteside; six grandchildren, Arthur Brooks Gullatte "T.J.", Jeremiah Gullatte, Kares'Smith, Isaiah Gullatte, Karson Smith and Karmen Smith; godmother, Dorothy Hopper; god-parents, Kathleen and Bobby Hardin; aunts, Pauline Wright, Betty Allison (Jimmy), Louise Gullatte, Earnesteen Hamrick, Mary Parks and Juanita Boyd; uncles, Isaiah Russell, John Gullatte, Jr., Dale Ferguson and Freddie Perry (Carolyn); special friends, Catherine Wilson, Laura Gill, Claudia Collins and Jo Bradshaw; a beloved caregiver, Eunice Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Ms. Littlejohn will be held on Saturday, August 21 , 2021 at 3:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed on FaceBook starting at 2:45 PM. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. Masks are required. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
