Betty Lou Pyron Patterson, age 89, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on November 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James Benjamin Pyron and Mamie Alice Whitaker Pyron. Betty worked for a number of years in the textile industry, first with Hudson Hosiery in Shelby then for Mauney Hosiery in Kings Mountain. She was proud to have "taken care of" her bachelor brothers, preparing meals and ensuring they and clean clothing to wear. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking, especially those meals where the whole family would be able to get together.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny W. Patterson, three sisters; Louise Bowen, Ruby Hayes, and Mary Hayes as well as four brothers; Bill Pyron, Stanley Pyron, Clarence Pyron, and Johnny Pyron.

Betty is survived by her son Greg Patterson of Charlotte and one daughter, Patricia Carroll and husband Don of Kings Mountain as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Brackett officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm.
