Betty McKinney Toney, 95, of New House Road, Ellenboro, died on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Oakland Living Center of Rutherfordton. A native of Cleveland County, she was born on June 27, 1919, a daughter of the late Alvis L. McKinney and Nora Jean Smawley McKinney. She was a homemaker and farm wife and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, read and do word searches.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zeno Toney; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sons, Phillip Toney and wife Brenda, Kenneth Toney, and Joe Toney, all of Ellenboro; her daughter, Susan Owens and husband Sidney of Rutherfordton; her grandchildren, Donna and Lee McDowell, Allison and Ken Byrd, Heather and Derrick Clouston, Jonathan and Amy Owens; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, May 14, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Sepaugh, Rev. Dr. Wayne Blackwood and Rev. Dr. Robert Toney. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, May 13, 2015 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
