Betty Sue "Det" Hopper Archie, 68, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on September 18, 1952 in Cleveland, NC to the late Rev. Garland Hopper and the late Hattie Ross Hopper.

Mrs. Archie was a long time member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed planting flowers and she loved taking pictures.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Archie; one granddaughter, Ashley Archie; two sisters, Mary Maddox and Carolyn Adams and two brothers, Hazel Lee Hopper and Garland Hopper, Jr.

She leaves to cherish fond memories of her to her husband, Louis K. Archie; three sisters, Sarah Gill (Sherwood) and Rosie Williams (John) both of Shelby and Willie Mae Hopper Langston (Barry) of Boiling Springs, NC; four brothers, Walter Hopper (Annie) of Cherryville, NC, Robert Hopper, Paul Hopper and Lemanuel "Tiney" Hopper of Boiling Springs, NC; six grandchildren, Montrell, Roger, Rashon, Christopher, Devontae and Jerome; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Archie will be private. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church in Patterson Springs, NC. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
