Beulah W. "Peg" Cannon

Beulah W. "Peg" Cannon peacefully transitioned from this life on February 24, 2021 at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby NC.

Beulah was born September 22, 1934 in Cleveland County. She was the 2ndoldest child born to the late Cofford and Ida Wilson Wray. Beulah joined Eskridge Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend J.C. Mitchell. She participated in several church ministries. She taught a Sunday School Class in past years, and attended BTU classes held on Sunday evenings at the church with her family. Beulah was the President of the Lela Black Missionary Circle for over 20 years, sang on the Mass Choir,Sanctuary Choir and Senior "Sunflower" Ministry. She helped prepare food and served with the kitchen committee. Mrs. Cannon had several hobbies, read her bible and Sunday School books,loved to cook,, enjoyed canning fruits, vegetables, baking cakes and pies and her favorite was sewing for her family, friends and neighbors inviting them to her home to eat and fellowship. She was a great storyteller of herfamily history making you laugh and keeping a smile on your face.She supported her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by attending school functions, and sporting events. Beulah loved to travel with her family; but most of all she loved the Lord and would tell you how good He had been to her and what you needed to do to be saved.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Cannon, Sr.; daughter, Helen W. Fletcher; father,Cofford Wray; mother, Ida R. Wray; sisters; Mae Charles Ross, Betty Jo Wray, Dorothy Hall and brothers, Randy Wray, John Wray, and Robert Wray.

She leaves to cherish fond memories of her children; Kandy Allen (Lee), Ellenboro NC, J.C. Cannon, Jr. (Linda) Shelby NC, Garry Cannon (Adrienne) Chula Vista, California, Bobby Cannon (Sharon), Shelby NC, and Ann Clark (Randy) Shelby NC.;sisters; Vinnie Lee Johnson (Jimmy), Helen Banner, Merlean Carson (Jimmy);brothers; Willie Wray, and Sherwood Wray; sisters- in- Law; Diane Macopson (Joe), Bernice Cannon and grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Cannon will be private. Burial will take place at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
