Bill was a family man, an excellent long-time mechanic, historian, avid NASCAR fan, Washington Redskins fan, fisherman, storyteller, handy man, landscaper, and gardener. He was also a man of few words, until you got to know him.

Bill's love for working on cars led him to the Service Station (Gulf Station) in Boiling Springs, NC where he devoted more than four decades to serving the community as a devoted mechanic. He worked alongside the late Guy and RB Ramsey, Wade Hamrick. He also worked alongside Richard Hamrick, and lastly his dear friend Charles White until he retired. He mentored several people who became dear friends, such as: Michael "Byrd" Linder, Robert Degree, John White, Scott Boyce, Jeff Wilson, Terry Beason and the late Joe Collum and countless others. In addition to working on cars Bill also was a brick mason, learning from his dad the late Neach Little laying bricks and helping build many buildings and houses in both Boiling Springs and Shelby. Spending time with his grandkids, attending Nascar & dirt races and growing his garden. He took pride in planting his tomatoes every year, and watching them harvest. He was a man who never liked to sit still. Many days he could be found in the Village sitting on the porch, cap on his head listening and watching the children play. He loved to go on walks and car rides, pointing out the different landmarks and giving details on what used to be there, or what he had helped build or the land he used to farm as a young man. He always had a story a lesson to go along with it. He took pride in where he came from and the town that helped mold him into the man we all knew and loved.

On October 19, 1964 he married the love of his life Mae Helen Elliott. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. Out of that union came four children, the late Charles Little, Jr., Carla Little Davenport, Chris Little and Cathy Little Whitworth. 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
