Bill Webber

SHELBY: Bill Webber, 78, of Shelby, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at White Oak Manor of Shelby after a long-term battle with Parkinson's disease.

He was born June 2, 1939, the son of Ralph Furman Webber and Willie Belle Webber. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Sanders Webber, of the home; daughters, Penny Brower and her husband Les of Boiling Springs, and Wendy Smith and her husband Scott of Shelby; son Matt Webber and his wife Kelli of Boiling Springs; brother, Johnny Webber and his wife Dot of Cherryville; sister Rachel Crowe and her husband Roger of Shelby; six grandchildren, Lindsey McGee, Emily Wilson, Sarah Howell, Padgett Webber, Joe Webber, Isaac Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Richard Todd Webber; a sister, Elsie Glenn; and a brother, Furman Webber.

He was self-employed for nearly 40 years as owner and operator of Webber Appliance until his retirement. Prior to that, he worked for Sears of Shelby and Webber and Sons Construction of Shelby.

He served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, RA leader, member of the choir, and numerous other leadership positions during his lifelong membership at Zoar Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 8, in the sanctuary at Zoar Baptist Church of Shelby, from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow. The family will be available after the service to continue greeting friends. The Rev. David Costner and Pastor Chip McGee will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Mission Action Fund or the Creative Ministries program at Zoar Baptist Church of Shelby. The family will be gathered at his home.
