Gaffney, SC - - Reverend Billy "Bill" Dean Jones, 80, of 2718 Wilkinsville Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Shelby, he was the husband of Sue Taylor Jones for 61 years and son of the late Ralph W. Jones, Jr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Canipe Jones. He was the former minister of Abingdon Creek Baptist Church for 22 years, Bull Creek Baptist Church in Marshall, NC, Friends of Faith in Pacolet, and Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Cherryville. Reverend Jones was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and a Mason. He loved the Lord and his family and was a true servant of God.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Billy Jones II (Carmen) of Marshall, NC, Jimmy Jones (Melissa) of Cheraw, and Benjy Jones of Gaffney; a brother, Jack Jones (Donna) of Cliffside; nine grandchildren, Já Jones, Ashley Jones, Trevor Jones, Michael Jones, Johnathan Jones, Brandon Jones, Madison Quinn, Anna Rose and Caitlyn Jones; a step-grandchild, Caleb Lloret; two great-grandchildren, Cadin Jones and Lilly Rose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Jones.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Abingdon Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Reverend Dean Patton, Reverend Eddie Smith and Reverend Tommy Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
